Why does my stake say it is still activating?

Solana makes newly delegated stake effective gradually rather than all at once. This network launched with five founding validators whose stake is written into genesis and effective from the first slot, so a joining operator's share is drawn against an already-active total and clears in about two epochs — roughly four to five days. Across the network 34,060,020 of 35,265,252 delegated is currently effective (96.6%).

Your stake is real and it is yours; it earns from the moment it activates, and the ramp applies to every operator identically. You will sync and vote before your stake is fully effective, and you will not be scheduled as leader until it is.

A new node not voting yet is normal, and is not something to report. Your votes are only counted once your stake is in the epoch stake set, an epoch or two after your grant is issued. Until then your node can be fully synced, correctly configured, and sending votes that reach the network — and still show zero credits. There is nothing to fix. Run the doctor first, and report it only if the doctor shows a FAIL.

Even share 2,611,953 per vNode — the pot is divided between however many vNodes there are, so more vNodes means less each. A drop when someone joins is the design working, not a loss.

You are funded when you join. The distributor is deployed and pays on enrolment — an operator grant that is yours to withdraw, plus the DAO match. It becomes visible in the stake set at the next epoch boundary, so a vote account created mid-epoch shows nothing until then.

Nothing on this network is money, and nothing here is offered as money. Tokens on this network are valueless test tokens on an independent test chain: they have no monetary value, cannot be sold, and are not an investment. There is no ticker and no exchange listing, by design. Stake grants, commission and anything a vote account accrues are denominated in those same valueless test tokens. Operating a vNode is unpaid volunteer work.

They are not Solana SOL — some tools display “SOL”, and may even show a dollar price, because they are pricing an unrelated token. The correct reading of any such figure is $0.
